Dress Code

PeeWee Combo I & II, & Kinder

   –   Any color bodysuit & tights are acceptable.

Tiny Toes, PeeWee Acro, Kinder/Mini Acro

   –   Unitard or bodysuit, footless tights.

All Primary Discipline Students

   –   MUST WEAR BLACK bodysuit or biketard & either Tan or Pink Tights!

MALE DANCE STUDENTS

   –   Black basketball shorts, any color tank top.

HIP HOP STUDENTS

   –   Sweatpants or Basketball shorts, any color fitted t-shirt.

PROPER SHOES FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL STYLE IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS.
Please ask Office what shoe is required for each class!



Policies

Attendance

In order for students to make progress, they need to be attending regularly. Dance class is a group effort and therefore absence affects everyone. In the event of absence, make-up classes are available. There are no deductions on monthly tuition due to absence. The studio should be notified if a student will be absent from class. If notified, students may make up class that month at teacher/parent convenience. Please speak directly with your Teacher should you have any questions or concerns.

Lobby/Waiting Room Rules
  • Students must wait inside the building to be picked up.
  • No student is permitted to leave the building without an adult.
  • Please keep the waiting room/lobby as quiet and clean as possible.
  • No horseplay, running around, etc.
Student Cafeteria/Lounge
  • Please pick up after yourself.
  • Throw any trash in the receptacles
  • Use "inside voices".
  • No horseplay, rowdiness, foul language at all! (Some students may be using this space to do homework, please respect that!)
Classroom Rules
  • Water only is allowed in dance rooms. No colored drinks at all!
  • No gum in class.
  • No food is allowed in dance rooms.
  • Do not enter classroom without Teacher.
  • All students must be in proper dance & shoe wear while in class.
  • Hair must be tied back off the face in bun, high ponytail, or braid(s).
  • Students should arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class begins.
  • Use restroom before entering dance class.
  • Students should not touch mirrors, hang or jump on barres or mats.
  • Absolutely no running in the classroom.
  • No street shoes are allowed on dance floor.
  • Teachers reserve the right to drop or remove any student(s) from class if the policies are not followed or abide by.
General Studio Rules

Horseplay, foul language or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in the Studio by anyone. Teachers reserve the right to drop or remove any student(s) from class if the policies are not followed or abide by. Tuition, registration fees, costume payments, recital tickets, are non-refundable and non-transferable. Parents/Guardians are expected to follow the same rules as students.

Tuition

Tuition is a flat rate and due monthly. You may pay the Receptionist or use our "Drop Box". Tuition is to be paid by the first class of the month. Tuition is late after the 10th. A reminder will be sent home with student. If payment has not been received by the 10th, the student will not be allowed into class until their account is current.

A $25.00 return check fee will be assessed for checks returned for in-sufficient funds. After two returned checks, only cash will be accepted. Tuition is never prorated.

Forms of Payment

Checks, Money Orders and Cash are accepted. Registration Fee - A yearly non-refundable registration fee of $20.00/per family is required at registration. For students re-enrolling, the fee is $15.00/per family. We do Family Discounts on tuition.

Class Attire

All students must wear proper clothing and shoes for class. Please no jewelry, it can be dangerous and could be lost in the studio. Please label all your dance wear, shoes and personal items. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.

Please see Class Schedule. Enrollment is based on first come first serve basis. The class schedule is subject to availability and change. Dancin' Spirit has the right to cancel or combine a particular class if we do not have more than 8 students in a class.

Studio News

Throughout the year we will have studio news, business and announcements that we need you to be made aware of. Please check our website, & bulletin boards bi-weekly to stay current with "going ons". If you have supplied us with an E-mail address, we will also send this electronically.

Studio Closing (Inclement weather & vacation)

Our studio follows the Pawtucket School System for holidays, vacations and inclement weather. If you have any questions, please contact the school. If classes are canceled due to inclement weather, these classes may be made-up.

Parking

Please enter the parking lot on Johnston Street (ENTER ONLY) and exit the parking lot on South Bend Street (EXIT ONLY). This is for the safety of all. PLEASE FOLLOW TRAFFIC PATTERN. We encourage parents of students to drop their children off, and pick them up immediately after class.

Restrooms

Bathrooms are outside the 3 dance rooms. You must obtain a key to access the bathrooms. Use the bathroom before class begins. This way there is no disruption in class.

Health

You are the best judge of your child's health. Please do not bring your child to dance class if they are sick. This is for the protection of all.

Insurance

Dancin' Spirit does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.

Costume Payment Policy

A costume deposit is due every 1st of the month, starting November 1st. Costumes are ordered in January and will not be ordered until deposits are made. ALL costumes must be paid in full by April 1st. Costume prices will be approximately $65.00 for children and slightly more for adults (boys' costumes may be exception). This is per costume, per class, per student (with exception with male costumes and hip hop costumes.) Costumes will not be distributed until accounts are paid in full. If you have any questions, please direct them to your Teacher.

Recital Policies

All studio fees must be paid in full or student will not be allowed to participate in show. All students enrolled at Dancin' Spirit are expected to perform at our Annual Recital, with the exception of our Adult classes. A mandatory dress rehearsal will be held. All students must rehearse all of their numbers at the dress rehearsal or will not be eligible to perform in recital. The Recital will be held in June sometime. Tickets will go on sale in May. Tickets can be pre-ordered or purchased at the door.

Cubby Room

This room is located in the main lobby area. Leave coats, shoes, etc. in a cubby - do not store your wallet, purse, keys, cell phone, etc. in a cubby - this may be taken into dance room. We are not responsible for things stored in cubby area. Keep valuables at home!
